What is a custom wedding ceremony?
A custom wedding ceremony is designed and created especially for you, using your ideas and our suggestions to develop the wedding of your dreams. Using components from any one or several different traditions, I will work with you to make that dream ceremony a reality. Your wedding ceremony is your special event, and everything will be done the way you want it. Whether traditional, contemporary, liturgical, or modern, yours will be the final decision . Your ceremony is done your way.How is the ceremony developed?
I will meet with you to develop the ceremony you desire, providing assistance in choosing readings, music and choosing other wedding professionals for your event. Whatever your desire, I can assist you in developing the ceremony of your dreams. What are your rules regarding ceremony content?
I have no restrictions. You may include religious or secular content, including readings, music, or other elements.Do we have to belong to a specific religion?
No, you do not. I will work with you in an atmosphere of acceptance and celebration, and will take your concerns and beliefs into account when planning your ceremony. What if we don't regularly attend church?
That is not a problem. I believe that regular church attendance is not a requirement for me to perform your wedding. If you are not attending regularly because you haven't found the right church yet, I can help you to find a church that will meet your expectations if you desire. You may just not wish to attend church. That is fine as well.My fiancé and I are of different faiths. Is this a problem?
There is no requirement to be of the same faith.Do we have to go through counseling?
it is not required. There is no program, course, or workshop that you have to attend before I will perform your wedding. What if one or both of us are divorced?
There is no need for an annulment or other such church recognition of divorce in order for me to perform your wedding. Can we include our children in the ceremony?
There are many festive methods of including children in the ceremony, including mention in vows and inclusion in joining and ring ceremonies. I can discuss these with you during planning stages. Can we include other family members in the ceremony?
I encourage the participation of friends and family in the ceremony, and can suggest many ways to have the special people in your life involved in this special event. What about step-parents?
More often than not these days the consideration of step-parents of the bride and groom or parents' significant others must be taken into account. Remember, this is your special day, and your wants and desires will direct the development of your ceremony. Are there any restrictions on readings or music?
Readings and music can be taken from any source, religious or secular. You make the final decision on everything. How do you dress when performing the ceremony?
This is your decision as well. I can dress in full ceremonial vestments, a shirt and collar, a suit, a shirt and tie, or casually, depending on your wishes. It's your wedding, it's your decision! Are you licensed to perform weddings in my location?
I am fully licensed and ordained to perform weddings in all of Ohio and Most states. How long have you been a minister?
I had started my studies in 1980.About how many weddings you do per year?
Currently We perform about 250 weddings per year. What training & experience have you had?
We have now participated in over 3000+ ceremonies from various traditions. Will you go to my location to do a ceremony?
We will travel to any location within Ohio. We charge a gas fee for anything over 50 miles. What type of ceremonies will you perform?
Any type of ceremony is fine with me.
Q. How late are you open?
A. You may call us at anytime. We can meet with you at YOUR CONVENIENCE pending our wedding schedules.
Q.How many weddings do you book a day, are we rushed?
A. With a fourth Minister now on our staff . Between Rev. Staci ,Rev. Nanci,Rev.Rita and myself we plan the service with care and with time to deal with anything that may come up.
Q. I am under the age of 18 may I still get married?
A. Yes. You need to let us know the county you are from. Our staff will make the phone calls needed and will contact you. Then you must meet the required laws of that county to obtain your marriage dockets.
Q. How much will a marriage license cost?
A. The price is set by the county you live in.
Q. Do we need blood test?
A. No
Q. We set a date and something comes up and we need to change our wedding date. What happens?
A. Call us as soon as you know that there is a problem. We will work with you on a new date. May- Sept. are very busy. But with our growing staff we will work something out.
Q. We are living togher now. Would this be a problem with the minister?
A. No. Not if you are of age adults.
Q. What types of wedding services do you offer?
A. Its your day. We have MANY ceremonies to offer. Or work with the minister and custom design your own.
Q. How long is the wedding service?
A. That is up to you. The ideal service is about 18 to 20 mins long. If the service is too short you feel that all the work and time invested was wasted. But too long you will start to lose the focus of your guest's.
Q. I have been drinking can you marry us today?
A. By Ohio Law No
Q. I have a church I want to hold the service in. But the Minister is not available, can you do the service in that church?
A. As I am A Minister in the State of Ohio, many churches and Ministers will let a outside Minister in. This is up to the Minister and the church. I have done weddings at churchs in the area. Any fees for the use of the church is between you and the church staff. I will if needed contact the church and meet with that minister if needed.
Q. We do not want a service. We just want the paper work signed and be on our way. Can we just stop in and have you sign the paper work?
A. Yes. The service is for the bride and groom that want to exchange vows. I have to ask a couple of questions. Then for a very small fee of $50.00 you will have you signed paper work and be on your way.
Q.We just want a commitment ceremony. Will you do this?
A. YES
Q. Do we need a witness to stand with us or be in the room at the time of the service?
A. No. State of Ohio does not need a witness. I as a Minister am a witness.
Q. I have heard stories that Ministers have cancelled with in a day or two of weddings what is your track record?
A. We have 3 Ministers on staff only 2 will be booked at ANY TIME. This leaves a backup Minister at ALL TIMES. A New Way of Hope Weddings HAS NEVER MISSED or BEEN LATE or had to CANCEL any wedding or rehearsal. NEVER!!
